The Top Hair Trends Hitting The Scene This Summer

Every season, there are new hair trends that we see on celebrities and across all our social media platforms. Last year, we saw low maintenance hairstyles sweep the world, the perfect I woke up like this colours and styles. This summer season we are seeing some major throwbacks to the 80’s and 90’s, with major celebrities paying homage to style icons of those decades. Lockdown is over and summer is right around the corner, now is the perfect time to treat yourself and refresh your hair.

To help inspire you for your new summer look, here are the top hair trends that we’ll be seeing this summer, 2021.

 Curtain Bangs

Curtain bangs are super stylish and flattering as they provide soft framing around the face. These bangs are low maintenance, grow out nicely and are perfect for those who want a fringe without the major upkeep. Style straight, curled or with loads of volume – curtain bangs will also leave you looking ready and cute.

Mullet

We’ve been seeing this 80’s hairstyle making its comeback this year. The mullet hairstyle softly frames the face in a shorter bob-like cut, with additional length in the back. As they say, business in the front, party in the back. We have seen celebrities like Miley Cyrus and Debbie Ryan rocking this unique hairstyle this season. Do you think you could rock a mullet?

Wispy Fringe

These lightly feathered soft bangs will instantly transform your look. They nicely frame your face and soften strong jawlines. We’ve seen wispy bangs on celebrities like Camila Cabello and Elizebath Olsen. It is the perfect combination of youthful elegance.

 Blunt Ends

Blunt ends instantly make your hair appear thicker with its sleek textured look. The blunt shoulder-length cut remains one of the most popular hairstyles for women, especially in 2021. It’s low maintenance, sophisticated and stylish for this summer.

 The Shag

Throwback to the ’80s and ’90s with this edgy look. The shag is making its comeback as seen on hot celebrities like Rihanna. The Shag gives your hair added volume and texture that you have never had before. If this is a look you want to try, ask your hairdresser for a good old Shag!

 Natural Curls

In 2021 we are embracing our natural hair by bringing out the definition in curls and letting your hair speak its volume. With the appropriate curl defining products and a guiding hand from your stylist you can learn how to embrace your curls and emphasis their gorgeous bends and waves.

 One-Toned Brunette

After the years of highlights, balayage and blonde, we are seeing one-toned brunette colours hit the scene. From stunning light caramel shades to darker chocolate tones, brown hair is very versatile and is the shade of this summer – in our opinion.

 French Bob

The French bob is a short, chin-length style that is often paired with bangs sitting above the brow line. If you’re looking to add a little French flair to your hair, then this is the hairstyle for you this summer.
